I began serving as the Elected Clerk of Court in December 2010.  Since my election I have been a “Hands on Elected Clerk”. On any given day in the office you will find me answering telephones, working in the courtrooms, entering data into the computer as well as presiding over hearings.
Current economic conditions have meant numerous foreclosure hearings but I have conducted numerous other hearings as well including name changes, partitions, incompetency/guardianship proceedings and many different types of estate hearings.

For me the most rewarding area I work in is in the area of adoptions. Signing the paperwork which grants an adoption is the most wonder feeling because I  know that I am signing  papers that allow a child to have a new family.

My experiences as a Deputy Clerk,a Magistrate and most recently as your Elected Clerk help me organize and operate the Clerk of Superior Court Office so that we serve all the citizens of North Carolina. Every day at work is unique and I enjoy the opportunity to learn every day.

CLERK OF COURT

Each and every paper that comes into contact with the Clerk of Courts office has an effect on someone’s life. I want to insure that the Clerk of Courts office not only follows the laws and applicable policies but that the people we come in contact with are treated with respect and compassion.
